Welcome to the Gryphon's Nest!
The gryphon lined its nest with such
As none will see again
But treasured most the deepfelt words
Sung from the hearts of men

Wandering
by Michael David Coffey
It was you in the window
of my mind's wandering
In the mists
of a morning's softness
There among the flowers
reaching out to grasp the dew
Carpets of gold and blue
And you in white clouds
wandering in the dawn
It was you in my wandering
Gliding through the whispers
The roses of love,
blushing in their pink innocence
And you smiling
in quiet contemplation
of life's wonders
Yes, it was you in white
reflecting a morning's softness
It was you, you --
in the delightful dawning
Wandering in love with love
among the gold and blue
Caressing the rose in innocence, pink
Yes, you in love
A Spring sprung dance of delight
to greet my dream, my longing
Yes, it was you

Dancing
by S. Marie Hugo
Dancing in waters of life's stream,
splashing of smiles.
Safe shoulders hold me
while sharp pebbles nip at my feet.
The stream is long, cool, sometimes chilling.
Strong arms twirl me around,
in a steady embrace.
Laughter is heard
echoing between the distant hill.
Trickles of trust shared,
deep breathes taken.
Showers of love
dripping ever so slowly.
Life's stream dancing
into God's well.

White Valentine Song
by Peggy Meeks-King
I think if I were the snow
near the barren white rose vine,
I would wish to cover you
from head to toe before springtime.
Maybe if I were the wind in the trees,
I would be your last evenings breath before
you fall fast asleep.
Then I might be the cold sweet-smelling
rain to touch your hair, be your love
so very fair.
You might be the music deep within
my heart,
but I ,then must be your golden shiny music-note
the love of your life, the song for which
you so desire.
Tell me we will never part, please find time
to tell me this my dear dear-heart, my divine
Valentine.
When you come to me lonely and cold,
I will be your new colorful winter's coat
silver-gray with the many shades of a brand new day.
You making me happy with your laugh,
O! that laugh
I can't live without,
you do know what I am singing about, your
laugh - I love your warm laugh.
We kiss - flying as we go -- we reach for Mars
then that silent blue star or is it red
in the more distant universe?
Your heart will take my soul far this I know--
as far as I need to go
Take me-
take me now-
before the snow melts this poem.

A Beautiful Sight
by Michael Jordan
as i look out on the misty lake
i see the reflection of
the moon so full
so beautiful in the water
not even the mist upon the lake
can stop its beauty from shining through
as i turn to tell my lover of this most beautiful sight
i see in her face a sight
more beautiful than any reflection
in the water
it is her, looking at a lover
as only one lover can look at another

Hopeful Romantic
by John Hulse
He used to
put fresh
pillowcases
on a large
bible
inside his
closet
hoping that
when he
used them
heaven
would bless
his dreams.
