A Veil Will Be Lifted

A veil will be lifted,
Your understanding will increase
And it will be as if
all the things you had known
	but did not understand
Will now be useful to you
And you will see how knowledge is useless without understanding.

A veil will be lifted,
Your anger will decrease
And it will be as if
all the people you were angry at
were only highly irritating lessons (if that)
To teach about setting boundaries and claiming your rightful power.

A veil will be lifted,
Your pettiness will be lessened
And it will be as if
all the small grievances you were still clinging to
are only examples of your quest for perfection,
To begin to see that shining mirror reflected in yourself
By your criticizing, whining and harping upon the flaws of others.
	(Quick ... the glass cleaner!)

A veil will be lifted,
Your sense of compassion will be magnified
And it will be as if
everytime you had turned from someone
who needed your healing and your grace
You will now be able to respond fully and ably,
To answer with a rediscovered tender thread
Unraveled from your heart which was choking on a hairball
	of your pride and isolation.

A veil will be lifted,
Your sense of isolation will disappear
And it will be as if
	all the loneliness that arises
	from your newfound honesty
Will cause a new family to appear,
And just as you thought you were lost,
spinning in the void of space -

A flock of angels will appear
to tickle you with feather dusters,
to make new shelf space in an expanded room
You had thought was the limit
	 to what you could embrace.

A veil will be lifted,
You will be reborn
And it will be as if
you thought you had known the boundaries
to which you might become -

But in fact you will come to realize
That each soul is becoming a giant
From the tiniest egg of awareness;
That the skin of the soul breathes with infinite possibilities

And as you age and die,
A new being can be cut loose
From the mental midgets you thought might be your identity
Now being sent to growth camp & charm school

...seeing, as if for the first time...

That it is only a veil which separates you
	from majesty and pettiness
	from harmony and strife
	from expansion and limitation

This veil shall be lifted
Whether this life, or the life to come,
	And when it does,
We will see your true face, the face that will last

Through all the blackness
		and pockmarked hells of space,

Shining into eternity's suns.
