Welcome to the Gryphon's Nest!

The gryphon lined it's nest with such
As none will see again
But treasured most the deepfelt words
Sung from the hearts of men

We All Wish to Be...
--------------------
We all wish to be
   of something greater than we are.
We long, we reach, we beg, beseech,
   We grasp for what our sages teach,
      We will not rest until we've reached
         The Star beyond the stars.

In our infinite insignificance
   We question, what are we?
We sense there are no limits,
   The infinite, we live in it,
      Awareness, bound not by minutes,
         Though our perception disagrees.

I yearn to see all life
   Through the glorious eyes of God.
Oh what vision He beholds,
   Such visions which cannot be told,
      Oh what wonders one beholds
         With the glorious eyes of God.

These eyes we have with us today
   Can see not naked truth.
Show me then the lighted way,
   Take me now, do not delay,
      Show me the illustrious way
         So I may embrace this Truth.

We all wish to be...

FAERIE
Dark they are,
 and golden eyed;
On days of death
 the night they ride.

Their steeds like phantoms,
 silver-shod;
A jingle of bridles
 and willow rod.

Mercury mooded,
 and quicksilver fleet;
They dance through the dells
 on the lightest of feet.

Yet, let them catch you,
 O Mortal of Earth;
You'll rue 'til you die
 the day of your birth.

For theirs is a people
 both blessed and fair,
But cruel and capricious,
 and uncertain as air.

MINERVA IN PASTEL
=================
 Her dark-tweed matte lay
 frame to searching eyes,
 words canvas almost speak
 across beige mottled isles.

 of weave or hue, birth lines
 A sentinel guards waste
 forth form, pastel and lace.

 Minerva, all we know
 takes hint between each tone
 sad glimpse into your smile,

 and colors you..
 in stray magenta's,
 auburn lights descending crowns.
 Life colors you,

 in rouge and charpet
 paramours and stifled loves,
 the lockets' blush on flesh cool tinder,
 the song of thrush spent on a winter,
 a wanton lover, near
 and unheard
 colors you.

Killer Eyes
By Tirya, 5/3/93
---------------
Like seas that shift, first blue, then green,
Then hover somewhere in between...
A sunlight flash of something gold
Creates a captivating hold
Upon me that I cannot break
Though it may be a grave mistake
To lose my heart so totally
To eyes like ever-changing sea.
