OPPOV, How do I explain it?

Well, exactly as the song suggests...frame by frame. O, we all know means "other", P means, you guessed it, "people's". The next P, well...it's not the same as the song...it means "points", the next O, "of", and the V is for "view". Put that all together and we have..."Other People's Points of View". Exactly. I knew y'all already thought of that, being the computer savvy people that you are.

So, What's Your Point?

My point is, exactly, that people have them. Not only that, but they are just as valid and just as significant as our own point of view. Actually, they are MORE, I'll say it again, MORE significant than our own, and I'll tell you why: In our quest for transcendence, we need to be able to see a certain thing from many points of view, so that we can learn as much about it as possible.

As I've said in the past, we Homo sapiens sapiens, by definition, are flawed and imperfect, which by the way is just fine...it makes the world that much more exciting. I've got plenty of stories to prove it to you, too...but we'll save that for another issue. Anyway, being imperfect, we have this problem of viewing something initially from only one point. Of course, we can get up and move, but what happens when the thing we view changes with our movement? Problem there, huh?

Share And Share Alike

Didn't your parent(s) ever teach you that sharing is good? This is why we talk to people. This is why we talk to as MANY people as possible. To learn, to know, to grow, to evolve...to Transcend.

Perhaps...while we're on one side of a thing, looking at it in our own way, with our own biases and our own limitations, maybe there's someone on the other side looking at it, too, with their biases and limitations. Great thing about that is that person has different biases and limitations. Maybe even their strengths are our weaknesses, and vice versa. Wouldn't that be a bonus? Then, if we shared our observations, we could learn not only something about that thing we're looking at, which we couldn't see from where we are standing, but we could also find out a little about the person that we share with. Maybe even make a bond with that person. That'd be nice, huh? Making a new friend is also a bonus.
