The Russian White House, site of the dramatic scenes in 1993 where the Communists attempted to overthrow the Yeltsin Government. This is the seat of government for the Russian Federation.



A monk on a quiet Moscow street in the old section of the city. Russia is undergoing a religious revival at this time.



'Worker and Woman Collective-farmer,'a monumental sculpture made of rust-free, high-grade steel. The sculptress was Vera Mukhina who made it for the Paris Exhibition in 1937. This huge sculpture can be found close to the All Russian Exhibition Center.



Fountain in the famous GUM department store near the Kremlin.



Honor guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin. The tomb commemorates all the nameless dead of the Great Fatherland War(1941-45).



A golden statue, one of a group representing the former Soviets, part of a large fountain at the All Russian Exhibition Center. This particular lady, holding cotton, is in the folk costume of Turkmenistan.



View of the main building of Lomonosov University, most famous 'Wedding Cake' style skyscraper in Moscow located at the largest university in Russia. Built in the early 1950s, it is a towering landmark in the Sparrow Hills southwest of the center of Moscow.
