'Mother'
by Susan Kramer
When we think of love
the purest love that comes to mind
is
‘motherly love’
A child that is hugged by either
a man or woman
can bring out the adult’s desire
to protect and nurture
in what we think of as ‘motherly
love', caring love
And, by warmly hugging another adult
we are also showing our caring love
Our body is an integration
of emotional-mental-physical aspects
completely interwoven
each aspect affecting the other
When we are healthy
in our emotional, mental, and physical
functioning
we love and care most fully
We are capable of giving ‘motherly
love’ most fully
‘Motherly love’ is unconditional
love
This love knows and accepts
that the person 'performs' actions
and that the doer is capable of
many kinds of actions
some of which seem to be good or
bad, in our judgment
Though, in actuality, each action
is a growing experience
A learning experience of what to
repeat
or what not to repeat
in order to preserve the doer’s
happiness
Sharing love unconditionally benefits
us first—
We feel peace of mind and energized
ourselves
when we give a child or another
adult
the space to experience life as
they see fit
By encouraging and promoting another’s
positive points
instead of emotionally, mentally,
or physically
trying to control them in fulfillment
of our own desires
or as we see fit
we retain our own happiness,
peace of mind, and relaxation of
body
Our unconditional love benefits
everyone else, also
Because when we are being positive
in our feelings, attitudes, and
actions
we are adding to harmony,
rather than adding to discord in
our world
Motherly Love
Unconditional Love
Acting lovingly
while allowing others the freedom
to experience life as they choose
