The book is Anatomy of the Spirit, The Seven Stages of Power and Healing (Harmony Books, 1996). It's by Caroline Myss, a medical intuitive who reads people's health or sickness. In it she describes her own trial in becoming an intuitive, which in the early days was not something she wanted to do at all. She writes personably and clearly about the energy centers of our bodies and brings the rituals and teachings of three major religions into the discussion on each. Her book speaks of the universality of our being. Included in her chapters on each of the chakras are personal experiences of people who have consulted with her.
I've carried the book around with me at various times, reading passages aloud to others. I brought it on a ride to a meeting with a co-worker driving, and she mentioned a connection to someone with AIDS. I read her all the experiences Caroline related of people with AIDS as we rode along, and she was excited and energized by them.
Energy seems to be the key, and working with energy seems to be an important step towards every kind of healing of every form. And when I mention the book to various people, it seems they've been reading it, too. I think that, quite possibly, this quiet, unassuming volume might be the best thing that has happened in a long time.
If you have a chance, read it, and I'll write more next month about it and would love to hear from others about it. E-mail me at "skyearth1@aol.com."
Thanks.
