Last spring Roger Humes (a frequent contributor to Seeker) introduced "The Other Voices International Project" to me. It is a project which he directs. I liked the final paragraph of the Project's Mission Statement:
To begin this fresh season of Seeker Magazine, the Poet Portrait directs you to the "Other Voices" website itself. You may find yourself wonderfully lost in the words and lines and stanzas and evocative images of these poets from the world at large........that might not be a bad thing.The soul has become an endangered species and Art must regain its voice to save humanity from extinction.... To help you and I rediscover some semblance of our humanity, these OTHER VOICES INTERNATIONAL POETRY PROJECT writers creatively share the adventures, desires and dreams of the human heart and spirit, wherever it resides. Through this singular poetic voice we can claim unity in our diversity and strive to live in honour of human dignity.
