DENNIS HILL

Dear Seeker Readers:

In mid-April, I received an e-mail from Dennis Hill's daughter. She was sending it to everyone on Dennis' address list, and I was included as Seeker's editor. Dennis had suffered a major medical catastrophe and was in a coma. In the approximately six weeks since, he has come out of the coma and has improved immensely but still has a long way to go in rehab. His daughter wrote on June 3:

When I was there Wednesday he took my hand and pulled me close to him a couple of times so he could kiss me. It was so nice! His left arm and hand are really strong, yet he doesn't quite have the dexterity to write yet. His right arm seems to be very weak still. Probably a result of the blood clot that was there. It's funny, the nurses all seem to like him so much, and even though he can't talk, he is communicating and manages to let his positive personality shine through. They seem to all enjoy him.

I thought it would be appropriate to remind readers of Dennis' contributions to Seeker, not the least is the poem which appears on the Contributor's index under his name:

                  "No attachment:
                      no craving.
                   No craving:
                      no mental disturbance.
                   No mental disturbance:
                      no thought.
                   No thought:
                      no mind.
                   No mind:
                      no ego.
                   No ego:
                      no individual.
                   No individual:
                      no separation.
                   No separation:
                      only bliss of the Self."

And to get a flavor of Dennis, here are the urls for the articles that he has written in Seeker, all in 1996:
Alice and the Who
Ah, Sweet Death
The Story of Bija and Lotus Blossom
The End of Karma
Song of the Buddha
Is This All There Is?
Unchanging

His daughter, Erin, also writes: I read your Emails to him and he loves the cards and notes in his room.
